Monitoring and Controlling Projects

This workshop provides participants with the necessary tools to measure and monitor project progress effectively in today’s business environment. Participants learn and practice earned value project management and other tools and techniques used to complete project scope, on time and on budget. Special attention is focused on communications skills, and techniques for effectively sharing information. The prerequisite is Effective Project Management.
Leading and Influencing Projects

In this workshop, participants focus on competencies that are necessary to lead and manage a project successfully. It helps participants understand their own leadership style and develop skills essential for navigating project challenges. It addresses creating a project vision, improving communication, building motivation, and understanding group dynamics to manage a project team for maximum performance. It also covers the special challenges of virtual teams.
Using Microsoft® Office Project Effectively

Participants in this workshop will benefit from a learning experience tailored to their needs. This course combines the principals of project management recommended by the PMBOK® Guide with new skills needed to create project planning documents. Participants with average PC skills can expect to learn all of the necessary basics of using MS Project to create a properly structured project schedule, and avoid the common pitfalls in its use. Participants will explore using other features and functions of the software. Foundational skills will be reinforced through practical, structured exercises converting work packages into activities, tasks, and milestones.
